One of Secret Invasion Directors Left Before Shooting Began; We Know Why

In early August, the showrunner of Secret Invasion - Ali Selim was a guest on the The Playlist podcast. During the interview, the man revealed that originally episodes one, two and three were to be directed by Thomas Bezucha, while only episodes four, five and six were to be under Selim's supervision. However, before the filming of the series began, Bezucha abandoned the project, which gave Ali Selim a free hand.

The reason for the departure of one of the directors was said to be scheduling problems, as the filming of Secret Invasion was postponed several times. Because of this, Bezucha had less and less time and had to resign:

These words, however, do not explain everything, because the shooting of Secret Invasion began in September 2021. On the other hand, the information that Fargo will receive a sequel at all, did not appear until February 2022.. So we can wonder if it's really a matter of scheduling and Fargo was the problem (vide The Direct).

The situation certainly turned out to be favorable for Selim, who thus had all the episodes of Secret Invasion under his control. This turn of events was supposed to be better for Marvel and the creator, as discussed by Samuel L. Jackson. The actor said that this made the whole story much more coherent than if two different people had handled it.
