When Do New Episodes of True Detective Season 4 Come Out? Night Country Release Schedule

The new season of True Detective takes viewers to the far north of Alaska, where polar night lasts for weeks and the main characters have to conduct an unusual investigation during this period of darkness. The premiere episode that introduces the whole intrigue is already available on HBO Max. In the next episodes, we'll find out where the investigation is heading and what links two seemingly unrelated cases.

When are new episodes of True Detective: Night Country coming?

The latest, fourth season of True Detective will consist of six episodes. That's two less compared to the previous three seasons that appeared so far. Here's the premiere calendar of True Detective season 4 on HBO Max:

• Episode 1 – January 14;
• Episode 2 – January 21;
• Episode 3 – January 28;
• Episode 4 – February 4;
• Episode 5 – February 11;
• Episode 6 – February 18.

As you can see, we will only get to know the entire story in the second half of February. The small town of Ennis hides more secrets than one could expect. This is evident from the missing scientists and a past investigation that's obviously causing friction between Liz Danvers and Evangeline Navarro. Despite some differences, they'll have to work together to get to the bottom of things.

As was the case with previous seasons, Night Country is also inspired by real events. Showrunner Issa Lopez revealed that her season of True Detective was inspired by the story of the Mary Celeste brigantine crew and the Dyatlov Pass tragedy. Indeed, watching the show, you can immediately spot the similarity to the science base and its missing crew.
