Dave Filoni has been involved with the Star Wars universe for years . He was one of the fathers of the success of the animated series The Clone Wars and the underrated Rebels. His Ahsoka was quite a success and was warmly received by fans and critics alike. The filmmaker was recently appointed creative director of Lucasfilm. From now on he, along with Kathleen Kennedy and Carrie Beck, will be the one to keep the galaxy in order.

At April's Star Wars Celebration it was announced that Filoni will be behind the camera of the show that is a bridge between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. The movie is expected to summarize the themes initiated in The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka.

The project sparks the imagination, even though it is still in the early stages of development. In an interview with Vanity Fair Filoni talked about his ambitious plans.

"I am preparing the ground for what appears to be a clash with the remnants of the Empire. This conflict must not resemble what we already know. It must take a different shape. It can't just be the Empire versus the Rebellion, or even the Republic. It must be visibly different."

Filoni's statement lacks details, so it is difficult to deduce what his show will look like. A big role in the new creative director's story may be played by the Ones - the powerful rulers of the Force, deities inhabiting the planet Mortis. At this point, we can't help but let our imagination run wild and ponder the various possibilities.
