Despite director's concerns, Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One is not slowing down and continues to conquer world cinemas. In turn, viewers have a chance to be transported to Venice and Rome for almost three hours, meet a villain the series has never had before, watch spectacular action scenes and another successful performance by Tom Cruise as agent Ethan Hunt. Satisfaction for viewers is also provided by the film's cliffhanger-free ending, which kept the Hollywood star awake at night.

Recall that the finale provides viewers with a sense of fulfillment mainly due to the fact that Agent Hunt achieves his intermediate goal, and Grace accepts the chance for redemption and joins the agency. However, the creators have also prepared an alternate ending, in which the aforementioned heroine ultimately decides to betray Ethan and his IMF colleagues. Such an ending was not to the liking of first viewers.

In an interview with Variety Oscar-winning editor Eddie Hamilton revealed that in the alternative finale Grace decided to expose the agents at the worst possible moment. At issue was the sequence on the train, in which the agents were forced to rely on the thief and trust her to succeed in the mission. The heroine, however, was to turn her back on them in order to get the money from the buyer for herself and negotiate her way out of the difficult situation she found herself in.

In the end, such a plot solution was abandoned, because during test screenings it did not appeal to the viewers. Viewers did not want Grace to return to the bad side. It must be admitted that the creators made the right decision, taking into account the reactions of viewers, and the heroine's decision to redeem herself fits perfectly with the title's theme of reckoning.

The second part of Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning will hit movie screens in the summer of 2024.
