Sean Connery has played many iconic characters in his career. Among them, for example, is the role of the first James Bond, whom he played for several movies, as well as the father of the famous archaeologist Indiana Jones. The latter creation appeared in The Last Crusade, where the actor starred alongside Harrison Ford, playing the title character.

Working on a movie is usually never easy; there are always both pleasant and nervous moments on the set. Mike Dawson, handled special effects on the set of Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade, when he received a "threat" from an annoyed Connery.

Dawson recently hosted a podcast titled The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of, where he revealed more about the aforementioned actor's behavior during the filming of the tank scene.

At the time, the SFX technician had to prepare the smoke that would billow around the interior of the tank. This effect was based on oil and gas, making the source itself very hot. On the first take, it got too close to Connery, which the actor felt.

Before the next take was repeated, Dawson was given a blunt warning. As the technician recalls:

"He turned to me and said in a strong Scottish accent - he was speaking Scottish when he got annoyed - 'If you put it next to me again, I'll shove it up your d*ck.' I just lost my mind. I was very scared at the time. It was almost as if Sean Connery, or Bond himself, was going to kill me. In the end everything was fine, then he calmed down," said Dawson during the podcast.

Below you can watch the tank scene in question, which was featured in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade debuting in theaters in 1989. Recall that Sean Connery himself passed away at the end of October 2020. One of the last movies in which the actor starred was The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen from 2003.
