What About Uncharted 2 Movie? Mark Wahlberg has Great News Regarding Script

All indications are that the official announcement of Uncharted 2 is just a matter of time. The actor playing the role of Sully, Mark Wahlberg, revealed the current stage of work of the sequel to the 2022 hit.

Last February, the long-awaited movie adaptation of Sony's game series, Uncharted, was released on cinema screens. And although the show starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg measured up to fairly mixed reviews, it managed to get more than $400 million from theatrical distribution (on a budget of $120 million). This result made it only a matter of time before a sequel was announced.

And although Sony has yet to make any announcement on the matter, it looks like work on a sequel to the adventures of Nathan Drake and Victor Sullivan is in full swing. At least, that's according to Wahlberg himself.

The actor playing the role of Sully recently gave an interview to The Direct, in which he revealed that the script for Uncharted 2 is almost finished. The star also addressed the lush mustache that adorned his upper lip at the end of the first installment. It turns out that it will return.

"I've heard a lot of different ideas about the movie. I know someone wrote the script and is still working on it. I would wear a mustache throughout the movie. Which totally makes sense, because in the last scene I have them," he revealed in an interview with reporters.

Wahlberg also revealed that for the first movie, he decided to grow his own mustache, because he found the fake mustache very troublesome.

"I spent a lot of time growing a mustache, because at one point we tried an artificial one. I lacked the confidence to play in them. It felt like my mouth was covered with a big tape; I felt ridiculous. I admire actors who can wear wigs, prosthetics, makeup and so on. I once successfully wore one prosthesis, but that was a long time ago," he explained.

The actor added that is open to participating in the project if it turns out to be better than the first part.

"When I finally grew a mustache, people really appreciated it. It was a nice touch at the end of the movie. So if we can make the sequel better than the first part, I would be open to it. However, I don't know how it will all go on," he announced at the end.

We, in turn, can do nothing but be patient and look out for some decisions on Uncharted 2. You can pass the waiting time with a screening of the first part, which you can find on Netflix.
