Ahsoka's New Force Ability Intrigues; Few Can do It, Including Rey

In the fifth episode of the show, Ahsoka used an ability that in the current canon has so far been shown only in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars and in the Star Wars Jedi game series. The main character uses psychometry to find out what happened to Sabine after Baylan threw Ahsoka off a cliff.

After coming to her senses, Ahsoka returns to the place where she fought Baylan. She takes the remnants of the destroyed map and connects with the Force to look into the past. Through this, she learns what happened to Sabine, where Baylan is and what steps to take. Only through psychometry can she figure out the situation. In the current canon, Tano is one of the few characters who are able to use this ability.

The first of those who had access to it was Jedi knight Quinlan Vos. With this ability, he became arguably the best tracker in the Jedi Order. In Star Wars: The Clone Wars it could be seen several times how Vos uses psychometry to achieve a desired goal. On the other hand, in the Star Wars Jedi game series, the main character, Cal Kestis, was able to recreate moments from the distant past - even those pertaining to the Great Republic period.

After the events known from Ahsoka another person using psychometry appeared in the universe. The person in question is Rey, which was revealed in the book The Star Wars Book explaining various aspects of the universe. Ahsoka, however, is closest to Quinlan Vos, as she herself wants to track down her apprentice and make sure nothing threatens her. The truth turned out to be more shocking, which only motivated the main character to act.
