It was recently revealed that the architect of the DCEU would be happy to return to the set of one of his most controversial movies. Sucker Punch was released on Blu-ray in an extended version, but according to Snyder, it did not bring out the full potential of Babydoll's story (vide Deadline). In an interview with Total Film the director stated that the version of the movie that saw the light of day did not fully reflect his intention. "Sucker Punch is probably the most obvious example of direct satire I've made. I still think I didn't go far enough, because a lot of people said it was simply a movie about scantily clad girls dancing in a brothel." During the promo campaign for Rebel Moon Snyder revealed to Inverse, that he is trying to convince Warner Bros. executives to return to the world of Sucker Punch. Knowing the stubbornness of the director, one can assume that with a bit of luck he will succeed in getting his way and present to the world the true story of Babydoll and her indomitable companions. What we can expect from the potential director's cut of Sucker Punch? First of all, a different ending. In an interview for Letterboxd, Snyder told what it was originally supposed to look like. "I still haven't managed to shoot the director's cut of the movie, but I still plan to do it someday. In the originally planned ending, Babydoll was given a lobotomy. She is sitting in a chair in the basement with Blue when a policeman comes up to her and shines a flashlight on her. Then the scenery falls apart and our heroine ends up on a stage where she sings a song. Her words read: "Oh, child, everything will work out." She is joined by Blondie and all the dead. The idea is that Babydoll has undergone a lobotomy, but is stuck in a euphoric loop. It's not an optimistic ending, but it's not suboptimistic either.
