When will Wish be on Disney Plus?

Starting on November 22, audiences worldwide can watch Disney's latest animated film, Wish, in theaters. However, realizing that the weather outside doesn't necessarily encourage you to leave your cozy house, we checked when the production might be released on Disney+.

Unfortunately, as the Mickey Mouse studio hasn't yet provided an official release date for the animation on the platform (it dependents on the audience attendance in theaters), we can only relay on similar experiences from the past.

Based on when Encanto and Strange World hit the platform, which are animations that debuted around Thanksgiving in previous years, Wish should appear in the Disney+ library about 30 days after the official theatrical premiere.

Although, there has been a noticeable change in Disney's policy, involving the extension of the theatrical distribution period for its productions. This is probably related to the fact that over the past few years, revenues from cash registers (mainly due to the coronavirus pandemic) have been inadequate. As a result, this year's big premieres, such as Elemental, The Little Mermaid, and Guardians of the Galaxy 3, hit the streaming service about three months after their debut.

Nevertheless, considering the approaching holiday season and the rather unfavorable reviews of Wish (only 47% of critics on Rotten Tomatoes rated the animation positively), we should opt for this more optimistic option for home movie enthusiasts.

Wish - plot

The animation follows the story of Asha, a 17-year-old girl living in Rosas, a place renowned as the kingdom of wishes. People from all over the world come there to make wishes to the magical ruler, who has the power to fulfill their deepest desires. One day, Asha makes such a big request that a cosmic force responds to it - a small sphere of unlimited energy called the Star. Together with the friendly goat Valentino, they confront the mighty King Magnifico in order to save their home and prove that determination and a single courageous individual, with the help of the magic star, can make a difference.
