Jenna Ortega, who portrayed the titular role, was a perfect casting choice and continued to attract crowds of viewers for a long time. Her contribution to building the character brought us such hits as, for instance, a dance scene, the choreography of which was later performed by thousands of people on TikTok. There's no denying that such virals give the series colossal reach and contribute to building a loyal community around it.

Tim Burton and his crew did a great job, and the cast created equally interesting characters, including the amazing Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair. The series has gained quite a few faithful fans, and this year's Halloween likely featured more Wednesday Addams cosplays than ever before.

What is the air time of Wednesday season 2?

Despite the turmoil related to Amazon's purchase of MGM, we now know for sure that the second season of Wednesday will eventually be released on Netflix. Unfortunately, we still don't know when. Shooting is set to begin in spring 2024 (Deadline), but the only thing that can be predicted at the moment is that we will probably receive information about the premiere date on Wednesday (the premiere trailer for the first season was released on August 17, 2022, on Wednesday).

What do we know about Wednesday season 2?

As for the genre direction that the second season would take, the conclusions resulting from the fact that Jenna Ortega became one of the series' producers may be interesting. Given the actress's previous statements, which indicate that the series will be heading in the direction of horror. Of course, we shouldn't expect anything truly terrifying, but perhaps this will lead to fewer romantic subplots common in teenage dramas, and more allusions to genre classics and the creation of a horror atmosphere.

The remaining information is as follows:

  1. Production of the series moves from Romania to Ireland. We will see if such a change of scenery will positively affect the atmosphere of the series.
  2. In addition to the regular, well-known cast that is moving on to the second season (Jenna Ortega, Hunter Doohan, Emma Myers, and Joy Sunday), the team is also expected to introduce a new member of the Addams Family, whom we haven't seen before.
  3. Therefore, it isn't yet known whether it will be Cousin Something or maybe Grandma Wednesday, but the people involved in the work on the series don't exclude anyone.
  4. Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, the showrunners and executive producers of the first season of Wednesday, will also be involved in the upcoming season. On the official Netflix blog, they couldn't hide their enthusiasm about it:

It’s been incredible to create a show that’s connected with people across the world. We’re thrilled to continue Wednesday’s torturous journey into Season 2. We can’t wait to dive headfirst into another season and explore the kooky, spooky world of Nevermore.

The Wednesday cast's reactions to fan theories

Warning, there might be spoilers! In a special video prepared for Tudum, the main cast members discussed some fan theories that could potentially provide us with clues about the plot of the next season. You can find the link to the video below.

One of the particularly interesting theories presented in the video is the one related to the character of Professor Weems. Fans have certain thoughts due to the fact that she is a shapeshifter. Well, in one of the episodes we see her death, but we never get to watch her funeral. Moreover, in the following scenes, we observe Lurch, the chauffeur of Wednesday Addams, whose eyes have a completely different color compared to the first episode, where it was very noticeable that one was blue and the other was brown. According to fans, this may mean that Weems is alive, but has taken the form of Lurch. The crew agrees with that theory.
