Star Wars Plays With Multiverse; Ahsoka Reinterprets Iconic Scene

It's no secret that the upcoming series Ahsoka is being treated as a kind of continuation to Star Wars: Rebels - only in a live action version. The show produced by Disney+ will thus be the acting debut of many characters from the original series, including fan favorites: Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi) and Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo).

The characters, however, are not the only element to be carried over from Rebels. The show will most likely feature one of the strangest phenomena in the history of Star Wars - World Between Worlds. At least, that's according to Jason Ward of Making Star Wars, which he first presented last year and which he has now expanded with further details.

Recall that, according to December reports from a leaker Ahsoka will a feature the iconic fight scene on the volcanic planet Mustafar from Revenge of the Sith. But most interestingly, Anakin's opponent will not be Obi-Wan, but a younger version of the title character.

Of course, such events did not take place in the original Star Wars timeline, which is why Ward claimed that this is most likely due to the aforementioned World Between Worlds.

In the latest episode of the podcast the informant added that Kenobi is also supposed to be present in the scenes on Mustafar, dead. What's more, Ward learned that there were allegedly two versions of the script for Ahsoka. The first contained a sequence in which we see the body of the dead Jedi master. The second, on the other hand, shows a pile of clothes similar to the one seen in A New Hope, where after a confrontation with Vader, Obi-Wan becomes one with the Force.

At the same time, the informant cooled viewer expectations, saying that the fight scene between Anakin and Ahsoka will only be a small glimpse of an alternate timeline. So we will not be dealing with the beginning of a multiverse, but most likely a scene set in the World Between Worlds. Ward compared this sequence to the heroine's passage through a room full of mirrors that represent different variants of reality.

The informant believes that the purpose of this scene is to show that Anakin's destiny was always to fall to the Dark Side.

The World Between Worlds was first introduced in the 13th episode of season 4 of Rebels, where this unusual location was depicted as a black void filled with portals that connect various points in time and space. In the animation, the World Between Worlds was visited by Ezra Bridger, who used the place to rescue Ahsoka.
