Squid Game: The Challenge renewed for Season 2. Casting started

Squid Game: The Challenge became one of Netflix's biggest shows and climbed the top of the popularity charts. The results must have been very satisfying, as the streaming giant decided to extend the series for a second season. This means that more people will have a chance to win big cash if they show endurance (see Variety).

The first series of Squid Game: The Challenge consisted of ten episodes, and it's likely that Netflix will want to keep that format. The company has already started casting for the program to find the right actors and actresses. However, it's unknown how easy it will be to get more famous people involved, considering the controversies that arose in connection with the production of the first season.

In February 2023, some information surfaced, coming from the participants of the first season of Squid Game: The Challenge. The conditions on the set were supposedly very difficult, even inhumane according to some, and a person was allegedly carried out on stretchers from the hangar where one of the competitions was held. Netflix denied all these allegations, and the show enjoyed high viewership.

The same studio, i.e. Lambert, will work on the second season of Squid Game: Challenge once again. The runners of the original series are also expected to be involved in season two. In global statistics, the show is now leading, recording over 11 million views.
