Pedro Pascal Was Long Unaware How The Last of Us Game Ends

Steven Yeun, known for The Walking Dead, introduced Pedro Pascal to the ending of The Last of Us: Part I. The game's finale surprised the actor.

TV adaptation of The Last of Us from HBO has attracted not only fans of Naughty Dog's game, but also viewers who have not been exposed to the universe before. In the program Actors on Actors, hosted by Variety, lead actor Pedro Pascal met with Steven Yeun, an actor known for The Walking Dead. The conversation covered, among other things, the two shows and the different ways of looking at zombie theme.

At one point Yeun revealed the ending of The Last of Us: Part I, which caused astonishment on the face of Pedro Pascal. In both cases, the story closes in a similar way.

"YEUN: I don't remember which season [of The Walking Dead - ed. note] it was, but when the game came out, I remember playing it for 12 hours straight, until the last [moment], when you just push the characters forward as thay are having that last beautiful scene you see on the screen.

PASCAL: Are you serious?

YEUN: Yeah. Nothing happens. You just walk through the forest.

PASCAL: You've told me more about the game than the creator did."

What awaits us in the second season of The Last of Us?

Those who have played The Last of Us: Part II, know that an event from second season of the TV adaptation may provoke an extreme reaction from the viewers. It concerns the death of Joel, who dies in the early stages of the second game. However, it is not confirmed that the show will approach the subject exactly the same way as the original, but it would be a big surprise if such a faithful adaptation of the video game suddenly took a completely different turn and said goodbye to some of the plot aspects of the original.

Although Pedro Pascal did not play the games, he probably was warned about what would happen in the second season of the show. An earlier statement indicates that for a long time the actor had no idea that the first season of the hit from HBO would end in an identical way to Naughty Dog's game.
