John Wick 4 Director's Cut is Being Made; Even More People Will Die

There's no such thing as too much John Wick - this was most likely the assumption made by the creators of the fourth part of the series, who decided to prepare an expanded edition of the film. The director of the entire series, Chad Stahelski, revealed what scenes the „complete” version of the movie will contain.

Even though John Wick 4 is the longest movie in the series (it runs as long as 2 hours and 49 minutes), most viewers agreed that the time they spent in front of the screen went by extremely quickly. Perhaps it won't be long before those who still feel short of high-octane action will be able to watch an extended version.

Recently, the editors of Comic Book Movie had the opportunity to interview the director of all the films in the series so far, Chad Stahelski. During the interview, the filmmaker revealed that he is currently working on the director's cut version of John Wick 4. It turns out that the process of preparing the film is almost complete, and the length of the movie compared to the original will increase by up to 15 minutes.. Given the speed with which the title character sends his opponents to the ground, we can be sure that during this time we will see some spectacular deaths.

"Yeah, I've been working on the Director's Cut, the extended cut, which we've almost finished. There's about another, I think, 10 to 15 minutes we put back in. We cut out a big chunk of Berlin, a whole character called The Frau, which is a pretty funny scene with John, and another scene between him and Tracker, a few other little action beats that we put back in.

I mean, yeah, there's always stuff we take out because it doesn't fit the pacing. I think the stuff is all super quality, I love the choreo, I love the characters. It just didn't - as a whole, it changed the pace of the film, and I didn't think I could get, you know, two hour and 38 minute film in therei f it felt slow. I think we got away with it because it felt driven, it felt like it was very purposeful (...)"

Unfortunately, the filmmaker hasn't revealed when the extended version will hit distribution. Nevertheless, the waiting should not be particularly long, as the next productions from the John Wick universe are lined up for release (Ballerina and The Continental).
