Although work on Superman: Legacy has been going on for a good dozen months or so, still not much is known about the show that will launch James Gunn and Peter Safran's DC cinematic universe. So it's not surprising that fans, inconsolable with this state of affairs, are trying on their own to get information about the project.

The latest comes from industry scooper, Daniel Richtman (via The Direct), who has allegedly learned that part of the plot of Superman: Legacy will be devoted to the fictional country of Bialya located in the Middle East.

These reports were confirmed by another informant, ViewerAnon. In his post on X/Twitter he wrote that indeed part of the events will take place in Middle Eastern territories, where terrorists will come into possession of crypto technology.

As is not hard to guess, these leaks immediately sparked considerable controversy. Internet users felt that in light of the numerous conflicts in the Middle East (including the ongoing war between Israel and Palestine) this topic is out of place.

The issue echoed around the web to such an extent that Internet users asked James Gunn himself for a comment. Asked whether the aforementioned theme will appear in Superman: Legacy, the director denied these revelations.

By way of trivia, let's mention that the filmmaker recently boasted a photo of a wall in his office, presenting artwork from the critically lauded comic book Superman for All Seasons from 1998. One fan took the opportunity to ask what kind of atmosphere the upcoming show would portray, to which Gunn replied that it would be a mix of dark and light tones.

Recall that Superman: Legacy proved to be immune to the protracted and fortunately already ended strikes of screenwriters and actors. As a result James Gunn's work will debut on the previously scheduled date of July 11, 2025.

Instead of exercises in maths, he preferred shutting himself up in his world and inventing new stories of his favorite anime – Dragon Ball. After years of study came a time of stagnation, which he preferred to call "searching for purpose." Looking out for destiny during the 58th screening of his beloved Die Hard, he decided – like John McCLane – to fight for a better future. He found the avenue to do this in Gamepressure. Since he's still a freshman in the newsroom, he doesn't have a target subject he wants to focus on yet.
