We Know Keanu Reeves' Would be Casting in Fast and Furious 10, And it Was a 'Tough Act to Follow'

Keanu Reeves, an actor known for films that have seen multiple releases, such as The Matrix or John Wick has proven more than once that he is even made for spectacular action scenes, which, as we know, are not lacking in The Fast and the Furious. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the star of Fast X, Alan Ritchson, revealed that Reeves was in talks for the role of Aimes, the head of the Agency and one of the villains in the tenth installment. Ritchson, who eventually received the role in May 2022, himself admitted that it was a mere "stroke of luck."

Reeves' potential involvement in Fast and Furious had already been considered. Screenwriter Chris Morgan revealed, that the actor had talked about joining the universe of The Fast and the Furious in the 2019 spin-off, Fast and Furious: Hobbs & Shaw. At the time, the star was scheduled to appear episodically as the voice of the leader of Eteon in one of the final scenes, with the potential for a larger role in the future. Now all that remains is for us to wait, and time will tell if any collaborations will actually materialize in, say, the eleventh installment.

Ritchson has not had it easy. He revealed that difficulties related to the constraints of the COVID-19 pandemic and unfavorable weather conditions have greatly affected his involvement in Fast X. The actor feared that his adventure with the series would end faster than it began. He also raised the issue of significant changes related to the director. In April 2022 Justin Lin left the project due to a conflict with Vin Diesel, and he was replaced by Louis Leterrier. Lin had previously directed five The Fast and the Furious movies, including the ninth installment in 2021.

Alan Ritchson is known for his role as the title character in the Prime Video's Reacher, he also played Hawk in the HBO Max show Titans. Recall that Fast and Furious 10 starring the actor, can currently be seen in theaters.
