For Schwarzenegger, The Terminator has Become Reality

The Terminator is a series that can safely be called a classic of action cinema, especially if we consider the original films with Arnold Schwarzenegger in the lead role. According to the Hollywood actor, artificial intelligence has just brought to life the dystopian future known from The Terminator.

The action movie icon admires the accuracy of depicting the potentially nightmarish qualities of AI in the first part of The Terminator. According to People, the actor shared his thoughts at the end of June during an "Evening with Arnold Schwarzenegger" event at the Academy Film Museum in Los Angeles.

He added that in 1984, when The Terminator appeared on screens, scientists were just beginning to explore the potential of artificial intelligence, but over time the vision presented in the film took on a whole new meaning.

The actor praised the director for, according to him, accurate vision of the future, which today has become a reality. It is worth recalling that it has been nearly four decades since the release of the first The Terminator. We can see that every year newer and newer technologies are being developed, and even robots are beginning to replace humans in some industries.

This is all the more interesting because the very James Cameron said in May this year that he has been writing the script for the new Terminator. These words were spoken at the Dell Technologies World conference. Cameron deliberately did not announce it earlier, reasoning that he wanted to see, which way artificial intelligence will go.

Did The Matrix also predict the future?

Schwarzenegger is not the first actor to state that cinematic visions from science fiction are slowly beginning to come true. Also Keanu Reeves directly alluded to The Matrix in one of his statements, linking it to the development of artificial intelligence, specifically the deepfake technology. He accused large corporations of creating tools that will harm humanity in the long run, blurring the line between the truth and what for years seemed to be only science fiction.
