This April, horror enthusiasts can anticipate a thrilling new release from Universal. The trailer for Abigail provides a glimpse into the terrifying ordeal faced by the kidnappers. Their hostage, a vampire and the teenage daughter of a powerful criminal, ominously states she "likes to play with her food."

The trailer suggests a mix of horror and humor, with characters often making witty remarks amidst their struggle against a supernatural foe. The situation is dire, but the blend of terror and comedy adds a unique twist.

Abigail is the brainchild of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, acclaimed for their work on Scream VI. This pedigree raises expectations for another hit. Melissa Barrera, known for her role in Scream, plays one of the kidnappers, while Giancarlo Esposito portrays the mastermind behind the abduction.

Set for an exclusive theatrical release on April 19 this year, Abigail is a collaborative effort involving various Scream creators, including producers William Sherak, Paul Neinstein, James Vanderbilt and Chad Vilella.
