The Last of Us TV has been receiving high ratings and numerous positive comments since its premiere yesterday, so that it is now positioned in the lists of the most popular TV shows. The adaptation has attracted many new viewers, but also players of the original story and a nod to them is the special attention to detail.

The creators of HBO's production have shown how much they care about viewers, including those who, through the original game, have already had the opportunity to get to know the post-apocalyptic world of Joel and Ellie. The first episode is faithfully reproduced and has many references to the original story.

One small detail appeared in the games and care was taken to ensure that it was correctly transferred to the show. We are talking about the time in which the events that began the story took place. There was a bug in the game, which was fixed in the remake and the showrunners made sure that it was not made in the TV show.

Time in The Last of Us (2013).

In the game from 2013, the action begins with Sarah waking up. The girl gets out of bed and starts exploring the house in search of her father. Only after descending the stairs can we see the current time. The wall clock and Joel's phone located in the kitchen indicate 2:15 am.

Later events lead to an evacuation from the city and an encounter with a soldier. As the shot in the scene is fired, Joel's watch is damaged. In the show, it is difficult to discover what configuration the clock's hands stopped in due to the poor quality of the visuals and the lack of a proper shot.

Joel's watch in The Last of Us Part II

A good opportunity to take a close look at the watch appears only in the second game. Ellie, while searching Joel's house, finds the watch in a box located on the bed. There we have a chance to see what time the shooting took place and the watch stopped. The clock hands stopped at 2:15.

This is where the inconsistency comes in. Sara woke up in the house at the same time her father's watch was destroyed, which is impossible.

Issue fixed in The Last of Us Part I

This issue was only fixed in the remake of the game - The Last of Us Part I. There, Joel's phone located in the Millers' kitchen indicates the time at around 1:45 a.m., depending on how quickly one gets there. So Sarah's wake-up call was postponed to leave time for the events that led to the hands on Joel's watch stopping half an hour later.

Time in The Last of Us series

We see the same events in the pilot episode of The Last of Us. An old electronic alarm clock shows exactly that Sara wakes up at 2:16 a.m., which is similar to the 2013 game.

In the case of the series, however, the creators have taken great care not to replicate the mistake of the original. It was for this reason that the time at which the final events of the prologue occurred was changed. Now, Joel's watch was damaged by the bullet at 2:40 a.m..

Miller's watch can be seen up close during a scene in which the man drinks whiskey and looks at a map, studying the road he shares with his brother Tommy.

Such attention to detail and the intention not to repeat mistakes speaks well of the creators. If such a level is maintained in further episodes, the series may just satisfy even the most observant fans.
