Ellie Will be Much Darker in The Last of Us Season 2

After the huge success of the first season of The Last of Us viewers are left waiting for the next episodes of Joel and Ellie's adventures in a post-apocalyptic world. Fans of the video games already know what surprises await them in the sequel.

For those unfamiliar with the source material, some twists may be shocking. Now we have learned that in the second series Ellie will become much more brutal. This is suggested by the actor playing the young girl, Bella Ramsey, who recently took part in The Envelope Emmys Roundtable.

In the interview, the actress mentioned what moment from the first season had the strongest impact on the change in her character's behavior. As you might have guessed, it was the most violent scene Ellie took part in.

"I think it took place at the end of the eighth episode, when she was dealing with David. She was imprisoned by him and later killed him. That was the turning point. She released all the pain and fear she held inside. And the loss. This moment is important because David said to her that she had a 'brutal heart.' She immediately denied it, but in her heart she knew he was right. At the end of the episode, we saw it in her behavior. David was right."

In the aforementioned conversation, Bella Ramsey also mentioned that her character is both terrified of the change taking place in her, but on the other hand she likes it.

"David was dead after the second hit. I think someone counted it, she inflicted some 28 axe blows to his face. She could have stopped, but she didn't. She kept doing it and she liked it. That scared her the most."

Fans who have already experienced the story of The Last of Us II already know that in it Ellie walks a path filled with darkness and violence. For the rest of the viewers who first encountered the universe, the change in the young heroine's behavior may come as quite a shock.
