The Last of Us Season 2 May Include a Segment Cut From the Game

The Last of Us has become a very strong brand for Naughty Dog over the course of ten years. Its popularity was further boosted by the TV series of the same name, which debuted on HBO Max this January. It turned out to be such a hit that the station was eager to order another season.

Recall that the story of the first season of The Last of Us was based on the 2013 game. In addition, it included some elements from the game's DLC - Left Behind - released by Naughty Dog in February 2014. On the other hand, in 2020 we saw the debut of The Last of Us: Part II, on which the sequel to HBO's production will be based.

Neil Druckmann, one of the directors and writer of the 2013 game actively working on the show, commented recently for Entertainment Weekly, where he revealed a very interesting piece of information. Namely - the second season of the eagerly watched show is likely to include at least one piece of cut content from the second part of the game, i.e. The Last of Us 2.

Druckmann points out that this is not a foregone conclusion for now. Shooting has not yet started and plans may yet change.

It's not without reason that Druckmann brought up the issue of cut content from the second game. Let's point out that next January Sony will release The Last of Us: Part II Remastered, which has so far failed to arouse enthusiasm among gamers, to put it mildly.

This refreshed 2020 game will include so-called Lost Levels, which are simply content that has been previously cut. If, as Druckmann signals, it will be included in episodes of the second season of The Last of Us, you will still be able to see it sooner by buying the remastered game.
