The best Thanksgiving movies you'll watch on streaming

After the holiday dinner, there usually comes a moment when we wonder what to do for the rest of the evening and spend this time pleasantly with the family. Below we present our list of movies worth watching on Thanksgiving, as they relate to this event in their theme, and will provide entertainment for the whole family.

Planes, Trains & Automobiles (1987)

Our list opens with this crazy comedy. Neal and Del are planning to return home for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, due to a series of circumstances, they have to travel together. On the way, successive transport options fail, making the duo get closer to each other. Neal is the one who seems to be more balanced and calm. He is a manager from New York who meets Del Griffith, a talkative salesman. It seems that they have nothing in common, but they still decide to travel home together.

Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009)

A stop-motion animation that tells us the story of Mr. Fox. The peaceful life begins to bore the main character, who longs to feel a thrill of emotion and seeks to get back to his old, thieving habits. He gathers his criminal gang and raids nearby poultry farms, bringing the wrath of the farmers upon himself, as well as disturbing the peace of other animal neighbors. The cost of returning to the old life may turn out to be very high.

Chicken Run (2000)

Another animation on our list! Even though there is no direct reference to Thanksgiving here, the story is interesting and gives hope. Chicken Run tells a story about chickens trying to escape from an oppressive farm that gets rid of any bird that does not meet the requirements. The heroic chickens long for freedom and it seems that they will achieve their goal with the help of Rocky, the only rooster who "can" fly.

Addams Family Values (1993)

Time for some darkness and our favorite gothic family. The Addams are expecting their third child, which is not something the older siblings, Wednesday and Pugsley, are happy about. The siblings are trying to get rid of the youngest member of the family, while the parents are desperately looking for a nanny who will fit into their crazy family and won't run away screaming after the first day of work. This dark comedy is full of humor, as well as intrigues that keep you engaged.

You've Got Mail (1998)

Our list wouldn't be complete without a romantic comedy. In this story, we follow Joe and Kathleen, who stand on opposite sides of the barricade. She is the owner of a tiny inherited bookstore, he is the owner of a chain of bookstores that become a threat for small businesses. It might seem that they are their opposites, however, they start writing e-mails to each other, which builds mutual sympathy. In real life they hate each other, but they get along great when they write messages. How will this complicated relationship develop?
