It has been known for a long time that Ewan McGregor, who plays the title character in Obi-Wan Kenobi, is very keen on the creation of another season. The actor reportedly begged decision-makers to create a continuation. As it has now turned out, the star even wanted to make the creators' task easier, giving them ready-made plot solutions that they can use in the second season.

Deborah Chow, director of the show, talked about it in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. As it turns out, the star of the show, well-received by fans and somewhat less positively reviewed by critics, had a head full of ideas:

"It always seems like you're going to end a show like this with a bang, and yet you end it in a parking lot with a second crew and almost nobody around. It's always lacking in atmosphere, but when Ewan and I finished our last take, he was already presenting me with ideas for a second season."

Does the actor's involvement and ready-made plot solutions increase the chances of a second season? Not necessarily. The matter is complicated by the fact that Obi-Wan Kenobi was written as a miniseries and as such was nominated for an Emmy in several categories. Studios usually submit their show to competitions as miniseries when they are sure they won't order more seasons.

Of course, the further fate of the show with McGregor is not yet determined, but also the fact that Obi-Wan Kenobi's story is placed between the two movie trilogies does not make things any easier. Indeed, the director revealed that weaving the plot between events familiar to the audience was the most difficult task.

Even if the title will not live to see a continuation and will remain a miniseries, Obi-Wan himself may appear in new Disney productions, which some time ago were mentioned by Kathleen Kennedy, the head of Lucasfilm.
