'This is Just the Beginning;' 15 Years After Iron Man Premiere, Kevin Feige Keeps Believing in MCU

Marvel's cinematic universe spread its wings in earnest in 2008, with the premiere of Iron Man. It might have seemed that after 15 years, the heads of Marvel Studios would stop having fresh ideas for further development of the label. However, it turns out that the opposite is true.

At least that's according to Kevin Feige, who gave an interview to Variety on the occasion of The Walt Disney Company's 100th birthday. Marvel's chief admitted that the comic book universe still has a lot to offer and there are still plenty of stories left to tell.

One has to admit that Kevin Feige is right about that. Marvel comics are filled to the brim with characters that could easily be introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The problem is that the most popular ones have either been around for a long time or have been killed off.

This may be one of the reasons why productions belonging to the fourth and fifth phase are not as successful as earlier movies. New characters appearing every now and then do not make viewers feel connected.

Neither do the not-so-good storylines around which the Multiverse Saga currently revolves help. However, it remains to wait for further developments and hope that the MCU will get back on track. It is possible that the release of Avengers: Secret Wars will make Kevin Feige reach for his secret weapon - reset of the universe.
