'It Was Intimidating':Captain America Actor on Working With Harrison Ford

A TV adaptation of the iconic PlayStation game series, Twisted Metal, will soon debut on Peacock. As part of the promotional campaign for the show, its star, Anthony Mackie, gave an interview to the editors of Inverse. In addition to talking about the show itself, the topic of working on Captain America 4 was also discussed . The actor shared a behind-the-scenes look at working with Harrison Ford.

It turns out that performing alongside such a legend was not easy for Mackie. The star confessed that initially he was stressed to the point of forgetting his lines. However, the nervousness passed very quickly due to Ford's extremely gentle disposition.

"The first day was very intimidating. I was so terribly nervous that I couldn't remember the dialogues. After all, this is Harrison Ford. There is such an aura around him... But he dispels it very quickly because he is such a cool guy. He said: "Let's film it!" And everyone said, "Yes, let's film it!" [...]. We spent a lot of time together," he confessed.

Mackie also shed some light on the relationship between the new Captain America and Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross, portrayed by Ford.

"Ross and Cap have always had the kind of relationship where they were friends and respected each other, but there were always rifts between them. This will also be the case in the new film," he added.

Recall that Harrison Ford was announced as the new General Ross last year, following the untimely death of the previous actor, William Hurt. Unfortunately, the plot of Captain America 4 is not yet known. Rumors are circulating that the film will see the general's transformation into the iconic Red Hulk. Interestingly, some time ago journalists asked Ford if this was true, to which the actor replied: "Who is the Red Hulk?".

Captain America 4 will debut in theaters on May 3, 2024.
