Viewers looking for unique superhero productions should look at Amazon Prime Video. There are several reasons for this. First, that's where you'll find The Boys with its spin-off show Gen V, which have gathered a loyal fan base. Secondly, the library is completed by the animated series called Invincible, and fans of the story and the TV adaptation of this comic book will soon receive the second season. The creator of the original and executive producer of the adaptation, Robert Kirkman, told what distinguishesInvincible from the MCU and DCEU (vide Variety).

According to Kirkman, the secret of his show is to accept everything that the comic book universe offers. Marvel Studios tries to avoid this approach at all costs, but that destroys some magic:

"One of our secret ingredients of Invicible is that we accept everything related to superhero comics. In the case of the MCU, they [the filmmakers - ed. note] distill the whole thing, de-edge it to make everything as realistic as possible. That's why you would never see Robert Downey Jr. talking to a fish. For me, that's the tradition of comic books. In one issue of Superman the main character had to marry a mermaid. I like these strange things and people also react to it."

The creator mentioned that the multiverse in comics is a very useful tool that not only allows for bringing back certain characters or justify cameos of famous people. It's also a means to exploit nostalgia. Kirkman considers himself a person who loves such moves and understands why they are so popular.

In Invincible the multiverse will be used in a completely different way. The author revealed that with it, the creators want to delve more deeply into Mark Grayson's character and explore new areas of his personality that were previously unknown or inaccessible. The second season of Invincible will air on November 3 on Prime Video.
