Games Workshop and Amazon have finally signed a full agreement on the production of film adaptations based on the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Various projects are planned, both series and films. Games Workshop calls all this a "new stage," the foundations for which were laid in December last year, when a preliminary agreement was signed (see Games Workshop).

Back in December last year we announced Games Workshop and Amazon Studios had signed an agreement in principle to work together to bring the Warhammer 40,000 universe to screens, big and small.

Today we have an update, and it’s one we’ve all been longing to hear. We’ve now signed the full agreement and the next stage can begin!

For now, we don't know anything about possible projects. The creators of Warhammer 40k only revealed that the scriptwriters have already started working. Everyone involved is said to be a fan of the dark future universe, with works led by Henry Cavill.

At the same time, Games Workshop stated that the creation of each adaptation may take about two or three years. We should be kept up to date on all progress, though.

The Warhammer 40,000 is almost 40 years old, and despite its large presence in literature and video games, no official movie has appeared so far in the franchise. The agreement between Games Workshop and Amazon and the involvement of Henry Cavill, a known fan of Warhammer 40,000 , may mean that everything is finally on track and perhaps we will get a solid adaptation eventually.
