Gamora and Star-Lord Reunite in MCU? Zoe Saldana on Possible Sequel

James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy 3 was the conclusion of one of the best series to come out under the MCU banner. However, this is not the end of the story for some of the characters and there is a chance that we will still see them on screen. In a recent interview Zoe Saldana talked about her thoughts on Gamora and how she sees her future relationship with Peter Quill (via The Hollywood Reporter):

The actress' statement doesn't suggest anything, but it shows that there is potential for a new storyline in which Peter and Gamora meet again. The role of Thanos' adoptive daughter would most likely no longer be played by Zoe Saldana, who in April this year announced the end of her Marvel adventure. However, the artist would not want this to be the end for Gamora and sees no problem with someone else playing the character (vide Total Film).

The theoretical production would also get a new director. Currently, James Gunn is in charge of a huge project related to the development of DC films and TV shows. The filmmaker left behind a very good trilogy and another production would not be easy to match the adventures of Guardians of the Galaxy. The series certainly still has the potential for a new opening, for which you wouldn't need to see the previous films to know what happens in the latest one.

Zoe Saldana's statement, while not binding, nevertheless shows that the characters' relationships are still waiting to be explored. Meanwhile, if anyone has not yet seen the trilogy's finale, they can now rent the movie on Amazon Prime Video or wait until August 2, when Guardians of the Galaxy 3 will appear on Disney+.
