Fan expectations accompanying the introduction of X-Men into the MCU are huge. To meet them, according to Simon Kinberg - a screenwriter and producer of many projects about the iconic mutants for 20th Century Fox - Marvel Studios needs to keep a few important aspects in mind.

In a recent interview with Slash Film Kinberg touched on the topic of a reboot of the franchise. In the course of the conversation, the filmmaker was tempted to give some advice on how best to exploit the potential of the brand. Here's what he said:

"Honestly, if I had to give any advice, it would be something trite, but true: the strength of X-Men lies in the characters. Great narrative, plot and action scenes are needed in both movies and comics, but for me, what has always set the X-Men apart is the most diverse collection of characters in the history of comics."

Kinberg did not hide his excitement about bringing mutants into Marvel's Cinematic Universe.

"So it's all about the characters and it's all about the actors who will bring them to life in a unique way, and I'm looking forward to that. I'm a big fan of what Marvel is doing and, of course, a huge fan of the X-Men. I also like Star Wars movies. There were also two comic books that I persistently, maniacally read when I was a kid: Batman and the X-Men," the creator added.

Recall that Marvel Studios gained the rights to the X-Men in 2019 after Disney acquired the 20th Century Fox label. Since then, the company has slowly begun to introduce mutants into the MCU (Professor X in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Namor in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever). There was also the surprise caused by the transformation into a mutant of Kamala Khan a.k.a. Ms. Marvel.

However, the above appearances seem like nothing in the face of what MCU fans are in for in the future. So there is nothing left for us to do but to be patient and await further developments.
