Last year, the industry media were focused on Ezra Miller. However, it was not about praising the actor's unparalleled talent, but reporting on his ongoing trouble with the law. As a result of the controversy that arose around the artist, it seemed that his career in Hollywood was over.

The authorities at Warner Bros. were in a particularly difficult position at the time, because, as we know, Miller was to appear in an upcoming movie from the DC universe - The Flash. The studio, however, decided to give the actor a chance, but on the condition that he'd go to therapy. Shortly thereafter, Miller issued a statement in which he admitted his mental issues and expressed his willingness to undergo treatment.

However, this does not change the fact that the public still remembers the "exploits" of the young actor, so his future in the DCU is still very uncertain.

Will Warner Bros. bid farewell to the current Speedster after the release of The Flash? Who could replace Miller in the possible sequel to the film? Such questions are constantly makiing rounds on the web.

The director of Barry Allen's cinematic adaptation, Andy Muschietti, has decided to take the floor on the issue. And although he is not the one who will decide who will play the role in future films, the filmmaker declared that, regardless of Miller's problems, he cannot imagine another actor donning the costume of the Scarlet Sprinter..

"If it [a sequel - ed. note] happens, then yes [Ezra Miller will remain the Flash]. I don't think anyone else can play this character so well. Other interpretations of this character are great, but this particular vision of the character is perfect. And, as you said, the two Flashes - it seems to be a character made for them," confessed the filmmaker in an interview with The Playlist.

Also on Miller's side was producer and privately the director's sister Barbara Muschietti.. Here's what she said:

"Already in the rehearsal shooting, Ezra was a brilliant, totally committed and an absolutely professional actor. Ezra put everything into this role - physically, creatively, emotionally. He was simply perfect."

Will fate prove to be kind to Miller? We will find out in the coming months. Nevertheless, it should be remembered that The Flash represents a kind of closure of the so-called SnyderVerse. In its place, James Gunn and Peter Safran's new DCU will be born. Thus, it's unclear what plans DC Studios bosses have for the character.

As a final reminder The Flash will appear in theaters on June 16.
