This Friday, November 10, the latest movie from the Marvel stable will premiere - The Marvels. Although comic book fans and industry websites predict, that the movie will turn out to be a flop, the first reviews do not herald a failure in terms of quality. Critics are divided, to say the least - along with very positive voices there are also those strongly attacking the movie.

On Rotten Tomatoes the title was positively reviewed by 60% of critics, and on Metacritic it earned 51 points out of 100. What good can we expect from the latest MCU title and will the adventures of the heroine played by Brie Larsson provide us with good entertainment?

Here are excerpts of reviews praising The Marvels:

"The most important thing you need to know about The Marvels, is that this 33rd movie belonging to the MCU is entertaining. This is not a revolution - shows based on comic books should be uplifting entertainment, but in this case we can talk about both a surprise and relief that director Nia DaCosta's debut provides fun, writes Observer.

"The Marvels is a highly entertaining, action-packed comic book movie that is made even more wonderful by the uplifting dynamics of the main characters, concludes Screen Rant.

"There's no denying that Kamala Khan's energy is infectious and what [good] she brings to an increasingly depleted genre," declares The Curb.

"The Marvels triumphs. Its depth can be seen not only through its characters, but also through its story. [...] Rumors of Marvel's demise were exaggerated," writes IGN.

While critics appreciate the efforts and selection of the cast, they however, they find a lot of flaws in the show:

"The convoluted story and CGI chaos mean that no character has the space to be a real person. That's incredibly frustrating given the cast's charm," points out Flickering Myth.

"The Marvels takes us on a ride down a bumpy road crowded with MCU compromises, which takes away from the strength of the star-studded cast and the talent of the director," judges Mashable.

"This sloppy over-the-top movie got pickups earlier in the year, and it shows. Poor editing, [the plot] is hard to follow. The Marvels is barely fit for release," criticizes Sunday Independent.

"This movie is proof that Marvel needs to take a break," concludes Jeremy Jahns.

So, iw The Marvels a good show? You can judge it for yourself by going to the cinema.
