Could Mark Hamill Appear in the New Rey Movie? The Actor Comments

More and more information is emerging about the new Star Wars movie, in which Rey is to face the daunting task of rebuilding the Jedi Order. We already know that the action will take place 15 years after the events shown in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and for the role of the aforementioned heroine, contrary to earlier speculation, we will see the return of Daisy Ridley.

And now, during a recent interview with Mark Hamill, a The Hollywood Reporter journalist asked the actor playing the iconic Luke Skywalker, whether there is a chance that he will appear in the announced project. The actor's answer, however, leaves viewers with little illusion.:

Recall that not so long ago we had the opportunity to see both an older and a CGI-enhanced version of Luke, and that was through Disney productions. Unfortunately, there is no indication that this is about to happen again.. This is yet another time when, when asked about a return to the franchise, Hamill did not gush with optimism.. The artist is even ready to give the role of Luke to another actor.

Recall that recently Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy talked on the change that the upcoming film with Rey could bring. It concerns the perception of the Jedi by the people of the Galaxy. Questions about whether the Force-sensitive knights are wanted and needed at all are supposed to be relevant to the plot. Now it looks like Luke will not play a major role in these considerations.
