Euphoria Star Cast as Julia Carpenter in Latest Marvel Movie

It's no news to fans of the Marvel universe that Sony is preparing a production expanding the Spider-Man universe. We are talking about Madame Web. As has been known for some time, in one of the roles we will see the actress known from Euphoria and The White Lotus - Sydney Sweeney. Although details about who the star might play were kept secret, there was speculation that it might be Julia Carpenter. As it now turns out, the rumors were true.

In a recent interview with Total Film Sweeney officially confirmed that she will play the role of superheroine Julia Carpenter in the upcoming movie, who is the second Spider-woman in the comics. The actress mentioned that she is excited about the project, which she described as showcasing the power of strong women.

It is also worth recalling that one of these tough heroines will be portrayed by Dakota Johnson, best known for Fifty Shades of Grey and Suspiria from 2018. She will play the title character of Cassandra Webb, who possesses telepathic abilities. Alongside the aforementioned artists we will also see Isabela Merced and Celeste O'Connor, who will present the creations of Anya Corazon (Spider-Girl) and Mattie Franklin (Spider-Woman). In addition, the cast includes the star of American Horror Story - Emma Roberts, and Adam Scott, whom we recently saw in Severance.

We will have to wait a little longer before we find out how Sydney Sweeney did in the role of the second Spider-Woman. World premiere of Madame Web is scheduled for February 16, 2024.
